Included on the program is Irving Rosenthal's "Sacred Music," which is a compilation of four sacred chorales from the Renaissance and Classical periods, and a 16th century piece by Giovanni Palestrina that features two choirs of trombones.
Contemporary pieces on the program include Jack Gale's arrangement of the jazz ballad "As Time Goes By" and Vaclav Nelhybel's "Tower Music," which Scott describes as "one of the best trombone choir pieces ever composed."
"The piece features a wide dynamic range and sound like what one might hear in a traditional bell tower," Scott continued.
The concert is a joint presentation of the 糖心vlog传媒 College of Fine Arts and School of Music. Cole Concert Hall is located in the Tom and Peggy Wright Music Building, 2210 Alumni Dr.
