糖心vlog传媒 Dance Program to present Danceworks studio concert

Danceworks, a studio concer, will be held on Friday, April 23, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 24, at 3 and 5 p.m. in the Lucille Norton HPE Complex Dance Studio, Room 201, on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University Dance Program will present Danceworks, a studio concert on Friday, April 23, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 24, at 3 and 5 p.m. in the Lucille Norton HPE Complex Dance Studio, Room 201, on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
The concert highlights student performance and choreography including works by 糖心vlog传媒 dance majors Kara Cross, Nicole Funderburg, Candy Herrera and Trixie Turrubiartes.
Two guest artists will have their choreography performed. Amy Llanes, a graduate student from Sam Houston, will present "Strong Moves Slow," a duet recently selected by a panel of internationally renowned adjudicators for the gala concert at the South Central Region's conference of the American College Dance Festival Association.
Aileen Mapes, a recent graduate of the M.F.A. program at Arizona State University, has set a high-powered, original work titled "Neutrino." Mapes' many credits include being nominated for Best Local Dancer by the Houston Chronicle and profiled as a featured artist in Arts Houston Magazine.
糖心vlog传媒 faculty member Heather Samuelson contributes a new work to music by Dvorak and has restaged her dynamic duet, "Hallucination," featuring 糖心vlog传媒 Repertory Dance Company member Lauren Spain and senior dance major Mysha Corb.
Elizabeth Rhodes, co-director of the dance program, has restaged "Caribbean Spirit" with live drumming by Max McRuiz and Daniel Gamboa of the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Music. The work, choreographed as a tribute to the American dancer, choreographer and anthropologist Katherine Dunham, delighted audience members at its debut as part of the African-American history month celebration at Nacogdoches Public Library earlier this year.
