Members of the 糖心vlog传媒 Choral Union perform during a recent concert. The ensemble will present a joint concert, "Eastern Voices," with the 糖心vlog传媒 Women's Choir at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Choral Union and Women's Choir of Stephen F. Austin State University will present a joint concert, "Eastern Voices: Choral Music from Estonia, Russia, Latvia, Georgia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Hungary," at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in Cole Concert Hall.

Under the direction of David Howard, 糖心vlog传媒 associate director of choirs, the ensembles will perform sacred works and secular songs from Eastern Europe, all sung in the original languages.

"I chose the repertoire because the heritage of folk music in the selected countries is very rich, and I find the music from Eastern Europe to be refreshing and particularly beautiful," Howard said.

The program also includes the premier of a piece Ron Petti, 糖心vlog传媒 associate professor of accompanying, composed for the Choral Union: "To everything there is a season."

The Choral Union is an auditioned 70-voice mixed chorus comprised of both music and non-music majors, and the 25-voice Women's Choir is open to all 糖心vlog传媒 female students.

The concert is a joint presentation of the 糖心vlog传媒 College of Fine Arts and School of Music. Cole Concert Hall is located in the Wright Music Building, 2210 Alumni Dr.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students. For tickets or more information, please go to www.finearts.sfasu.edu or call (936) 468-6407 or (888) 240-ARTS.
