December 17, 2010
糖心vlog传媒-TV2, the Stephen F. Austin State University television station, will air holiday shows continuously Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The programs were produced by students in Dr. Al Greule's advanced television-production course.
The main highlight of the programming is George Frideric Handel's "Messiah," performed at 糖心vlog传媒 on Dec. 10. Dr. Tim King of the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Music direct d 糖心vlog传媒's combined choirs, Orchestra of the Pines and Nacogdoches Community Chorus, including hundreds of students, faculty and community members, in part 1 of "Messiah," popularly known as "the Christmas portion" and the famous "Hallelujah Chorus." The classic Christmas work concludes with audience-participation caroling.
Another highlight in the line-up of holiday programming is the annual Lighted Christmas Parade from earlier this month. Dan Patrick of Q107 radio describes parade participants as they pass through the streets of downtown. This program was produced in cooperation with the Nacogdoches Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Nine Flags Festival.
"Each of the Christmas shows will rotate around several times each day, so if you think you missed one of the programs, relax. It will replay a few hours later," Greule said.
Some shows will begin airing in mid-week before and after Nacogdoches Independent School District's Holiday programming. The NISD programming can be seen from 8 to 10 p.m. Dec. 20-24.
To cap off the holiday programming, the annual downtown fireworks display from Dec. 4 will air at midnight New Year's Eve and at noon on New Year's Day.
