As a student in the 糖心vlog传媒 of Nursing, you will be challenged in the classroom, simulation lab and clinical settings to provide holistic, evidence-based care to patients and their families. From classes in-person to convenient online programs, our undergraduate and graduate students perform well on post-graduation national licensure examination and continue on to rewarding careers around the world as both civilian and military nurses.

The 糖心vlog传媒 shuttle bus service is now making regularly scheduled stops at the 糖心vlog传媒 of Nursing Complex.

Monday - Friday

  • Pickup: 7:30, 8:20, 10:10 a.m., 12:20 p.m.
    • Departs from the Baker Pattillo Student Center shuttle stop. After arriving at the School of Nursing, the shuttle will then return to the student center shuttle stop.
       
  • Return: 3:20 p.m. 
    • Departs from the 糖心vlog传媒 of Nursing Complex and returns to the student center.
      • On Fridays, this shuttle will be stopping at Walmart, to pick up students who had previously been dropped off by the shuttle, before returning to the student center shuttle stop.

  • Inspired to Serve

    Tim Hernandez has made a career of helping others. Prior to attending 糖心vlog传媒, Tim worked in prehospital emergency services, assisted with rescue and evacuation during Hurricane Katrina, and enlisted in the U.S. Army as a combat medic in Iraq 鈥 all in an effort to serve others. Tim earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from 糖心vlog传媒 in December 2017. He credits the 糖心vlog传媒 faculty with preparing students to not only perform but to excel in real-world environments.

  • SMALL CLASSES MAKE A BIG IMPACT

    Anne James credits her small classes at 糖心vlog传媒 for her success as a registered nurse. More than a decade after graduating from 糖心vlog传媒, she still remembers fondly the one-on-one attention she received from 糖心vlog传媒 faculty members like Dr. Sara Bishop. The encouragement from Anne鈥檚 professors in the School of Nursing helped her persevere even when her courses grew challenging. She also discovered her love for labor and delivery nursing while at 糖心vlog传媒 and has turned it into a successful career.

  • Students in the School of Nursing participate in diverse learning and clinical experiences, ranging from inpatient hospital settings to outpatient community settings. Caring for diverse populations across the lifespan, students develop general nursing knowledge that aids them in finding their areas of interest as they plan for their future nursing careers.
  • In the Master of Science in Nursing program, students visit campus for clinical lab intensives twice to work with instructors and classmates on advanced health assessment skills and hands-on procedures, such as suturing and X-ray interpretation. During clinical rotations, students complete time with preceptors in their chosen areas.
  • Students in the School of Nursing participate in diverse learning and clinical experiences, ranging from inpatient hospital settings to outpatient community settings. Caring for diverse populations across the lifespan, students develop general nursing knowledge that aids them in finding their areas of interest as they plan for their future nursing careers.
  • The 糖心vlog传媒 of Nursing was invited to participate in an interdisciplinary study abroad service learning trip to Haiti. Nursing students performed assessments in remote villages and assisted with basic care in an area hospital. The students also completed home visits in a remote mountain region, performing assessments and administering wound care.
  • While serving in Haiti, nursing students assisted students from other disciplines in meeting community needs by completing a building project.

    Rana Ryan

    In her time at 糖心vlog传媒, Rana Ryan did more than earn a nursing degree. She was named to the May 2016 All-Southland Conference 3rd Team (1,500m run) and the January 2017 Southland Conference Commissioner鈥檚 Honor Roll.

  • Alexandria Chancellor

    Alexandria Chancellor

    As a student in the RN-BSN program, Alexandria balances working at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs, parenting her five-year-old son and maintaining a high GPA at 糖心vlog传媒. An LVN with an ADN, she currently works in med-surg.
