In addition to learning about yourself and your place in the world, studying abroad means learning about the social and cultural norms of your host country. Sometimes, this means navigating a landscape of attitudes towards your ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion or gender. Doing research on your host country can help prepare you for what to expect while living in your host country.
