Cello Club to present recital to promote ensemble performing


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present the Cello Club with Evgeni Raychev in a recital at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.

Performers will include active Cello Club members playing with Raychev, School of Music faculty member, and his students.

The objective of the program is to promote and provide opportunities for cello ensemble playing, according to Raychev.

Madrigal Singers to perform fall concert

ESPN3 to telecast ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ home athletic events next year


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University will be the first institution in the Southland Conference to produce ESPN3 telecasts for all home football, basketball, soccer and volleyball games.

At its quarterly meeting Monday, the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Board of Regents approved funding for equipment and renovations to the William R. Johnson Coliseum and possibly other on-campus athletic facilities. The equipment and renovations are needed to facilitate the delivery of ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ games through the ESPN3 platform.

Student-directed 'Blood Relations' retells story of Lizzie Borden


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present the student-directed "Blood Relations" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, in the Downstage Theatre on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.

Senior Austin Holt of Weatherford directs Sharon Pollock's full-length play that retells the story of Lizzie Borden, the American woman known for being tried and acquitted for the axe murders of her father and stepmother in Fall River, Mass., in 1892.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ student photography exhibition to feature tintypes


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art will present an exhibition of student photography showing Nov. 3 through Jan. 10 in the Reception Hall Gallery in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.

The exhibition will include both traditional photographs and tintypes, according to Johanna Warwick, assistant professor of photography in the School of Art. The photographs are from a seven-day camping trip advanced photography students took during this past Maymester to Santa Fe, N.M.
