NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Join the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Beef Center and Stephen F. Austin State University's Nacogdoches Naturally Family Outdoor Adventure Program for "Farm and Forestry Day" from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 26, at the Walter C. Todd Agricultural Research Center located 5.5 miles north of Nacogdoches on State Highway 259.
The free barnyard event is a chance for children and their families to be exposed to the farm animals at the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Beef Center and gain awareness of the many educational experiences available from ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½'s Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture.
ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Regents Lecture set for April 22
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Dr. Harry Downing, professor and chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Stephen F. Austin State University, will present "Physics is Phundamental" at the upcoming Regents Lecture.
Downing, the 2013-14 Regents Professor, will deliver the address at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the Miller Science Building Lecture Hall, Room 334, on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus. Refreshments will be served, and there is no admission charge.
ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ faculty recital to feature original compositions
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present Dr. Stephen Lias, Dr. Nathan Nabb and Dr. James Pitts performing "Outside In - Inside Out," a faculty recital, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.
The recital will be comprised of three large works, two of which are world premieres, composed by Lias, who is professor of composition at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½. Staff pianist Pitts will accompany on two of the program pieces.
ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ School of Theatre to present student-directed 'No Exit'
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present the student-directed one-act play "No Exit" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in the Downstage Theatre on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.
Written by Jean-Paul Sartre, "No Exit" will be directed by Weatherford senior theatre major Austin Holt. It is the story of three people - Garcin, Estelle and Inez - who are "stuck in hell with each other," Holt said.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Bands' 'Concert in the Park' planned for April 27
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Bands performing the annual "Concert in the Park" at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, on the lawn in front of the Wright Music Building on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.
All ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ concert bands will perform, according to Fred J. Allen, director of bands. Opening the concert will be the University Band under the direction of graduate assistant Stephen Morman of Athens who will conduct "Spirals of Light" by Sean O'Loughlin.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University will present the university's flagship orchestral ensemble, Orchestra of the Pines, performing its final concert of the semester at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.

Trumpet great Bergeron to perform with ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½'s Swingin' Axes
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present acclaimed jazz great Wayne Bergeron performing with ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½'s Swingin' Axes jazz band at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in W.M. Turner Auditorium.
The performance is a feature of the College of Fine Arts' 2013-2014 University Series, "Live Out Loud."
