Thursday performance of 'Godspell' canceled


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Thursday night opening of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre's performance of "Godspell" has been canceled due to the death of the fiancé of one of the cast members, according to Scott Shattuck, director of the School of Theatre.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ theatre major Kolton Culberson, 23, died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident that occurred Wednesday night in eastern Nacogdoches County. His fiancée, Mary Creath, is among the cast members of "Godspell."

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ to screen "Ride The Divide" at Cole Art Center


A free screening of "Ride The Divide" will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, July 5, at The Cole Art Center as part of the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ School of Art's First Friday Film Series.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - As part of its First Friday Film Series, the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free, one-night screening of "Ride The Divide" at 7 p.m. Friday, July 5, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.

July 1 deadline for piano/strings camp registration


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Strings and piano students from across the state still have time to register for a one-week strings and piano camp presented by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music Sunday, July 7, through Friday, July 12.

July 1 is the deadline for registration in the camp, according to Gene Moon, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ director of orchestral activities and the camp administrator.

Through each day of the camp, strings and piano students in seventh through 12th grades will be immersed in quality music making in group and one-on-one master class situations, Moon said.
