Dr. Patrick Jenlink to present in Regents Lecture Series


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Dr. Patrick Jenlink, Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 2017-18 Regents Professor, will present at the Regents Lecture Series at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in the Janice A. Pattillo Early Childhood Research Center, Room 212.

Popular family favorite, comedy-drama highlight SummerStage Festival at 糖心vlog传媒


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The SummerStage Festival at Stephen F. Austin State University will present a fun and funny children鈥檚 musical and an emotionally powerful American play in its 2018 summer theatre season.

Make plans early to enjoy this year鈥檚 SummerStage Festival, which is slated for June 29 through July 19 with performances in W.M. Turner Auditorium and the Downstage Theatre. Both venues are in Griffith Fine Arts Building on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus. This year鈥檚 plays are 鈥淧inkalicious the Musical鈥 and 鈥淐rimes of the Heart.鈥 The festival is sponsored in part by Tipton Ford Lincoln.

College of Fine Arts鈥 University Series seeks programming input


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Do you like classical music? What about pop, rock, blues or jazz? Do you prefer an evening of modern dance or musical theatre? Is stand-up comedy more your style?

The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts is seeking input in planning future programming for its University Series and Encore Events.

A survey seeking suggestions for the kinds of national/international touring acts audiences would like to see in Turner Auditorium will help provide direction for future seasons.

糖心vlog传媒 Department of Psychology students, faculty present research at convention


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Department of Psychology was well represented at the Southwestern Psychological Association annual convention recently in Houston.

Thirteen psychology faculty members and 26 undergraduate and graduate students presented 21 research posters, eight research discussions and two workshops during the convention.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Center for Regional Heritage Research to host World War II Exhibit


Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Center for Regional Heritage Research will host an exhibit on the Women鈥檚 Army Auxiliary Corps at the Nacogdoches Railroad Depot beginning April 26.
 
Sophia Savage, a counseling graduate assistant for the CRHR, and Kierstin Smith, a 糖心vlog传媒 of Nursing student, developed the idea of creating a WAAC exhibit. Savage and Smith wanted to shed light on a piece of Nacogdoches history that is often overlooked.
 

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Festival of New American Plays popular among theatre patrons


Tickets are selling quickly for the biennial Festival of New American Plays at Stephen F. Austin State University.

The popular staged-reading event, slated for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, April 24 through 28, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in the Downstage Theatre, almost always sells out for each performance, according to Jack Heifner, director of the festival and 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 playwright-in-residence.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Friday Film Series offers special screening of 鈥楯ane鈥


The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and the Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free, one-night special screening of the documentary 鈥淛ane鈥 at 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.

糖心vlog传媒 College of Fine Arts Dean鈥檚 Awards recognizes students鈥 potential


The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts will recognize four students during the presentation of the annual Dean鈥檚 Awards at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.

Modern jazz favorites showcased in Contemporary Ensemble concert - CANCELED!


This concert by the Contemporary Ensemble at Stephen F. Austin State University, originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus, has been canceled.

Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Army ROTC marksmanship team had the opportunity to hone their skills during its recent participation in the second annual Battle of the Piney Woods Shootout at the Meadow Ridge Archery and Gun Range in Nacogdoches.
