NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will welcome two guest artists who will perform recitals as part of the Cole Performing Arts Series.

The annual fall concert of the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Percussion Ensemble is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Cole Concert Hall as part of the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ School of Music's Concert Series.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Nacogdoches Naturally will sponsor a Family Outdoor Adventure at Stephen F. Austin State University's Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St., from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 3.

"Meet the Creepy Crawlers" is a fun event that provides an opportunity to learn about forest animals that slither, creep and crawl. There will be live animals, "creepy crawler" crafts and a guided safari hike.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University Pineywoods Native Plant Center will host a two-part garden seminar, "How to Identify and Attract Backyard Birds," from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday Nov. 16 and from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 17.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Future college students will have the opportunity to experience a taste of campus life during a free, action-packed open-house event at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches on Saturday, Nov. 10.

High school participants in the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ School of Art's annual Art Day take studio art classes and meet with the program's students and faculty.

"If you let them experience it, they will come" has proven a successful philosophy for the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ School of Art, especially in relation to Art Day, a major recruiting effort held each November.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University Board of Regents on Monday appointed an executive director of marketing and public affairs to lead the university's strategic marketing efforts.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University Board of Regents has selected the Tyler-based firm Freese and Nichols to study on-campus water resources, usage and distribution in accordance with the Campus Master Plan.

Freese and Nichols was selected from three firms invited to make presentations during Sunday's meeting of the board's Building and Grounds Committee. The Board of Regents approved the selection based on the committee's recommendation at its quarterly meeting Monday.

John Handley, the new art galleries director for Stephen F. Austin State University's School of Art, brings a wealth of experience to the job.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - John Handley grew up in a family of artists - musicians especially.

"But my mother was, and is, a painter, so I was painting at a very early age," he said.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present a student production of Jacquelyn Reingold's "Tunnel of Love" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. All performances are in the Downstage Theatre, located on the first floor of the Griffith Fine Arts Building.

The one-act play, directed by Emory junior Vanessa Hendricks, is "a bizarre comedy about Susie, her boyfriend and a special problem," according to Hendricks.
