NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 speech pathology clinic, the Stanley Center for Speech and Language Disorders, is celebrating its sixth consecutive year as the recipient of a Parkinson Voice Project grant that enables the center to offer the SPEAK OUT! Therapy Program.

Stephen F. Austin State University students in the Rusche College of Business learned from Texas banking, bank regulation and financial planning experts that their industry is far more about people than money at a career exploration day Nov. 6. Sponsored by 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Chadwick Banking Program, the event featured one-on-one meeting opportunities with nearly 20 Texas banks and financial planning institutions as well as bank regulators from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Thirteen aviation students from Stephen F. Austin State University competed at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association's SAFECON 2024 competition, held in Waco. This prestigious event included ground and flying challenges against top collegiate flight programs from across the nation. 

Multiple departments at Stephen F. Austin State University collaborated with the Texas Forestry Association to host the annual Wild About Science event Oct. 18 and 25 for fourth and fifth grade students from regional schools. Faculty and staff from the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture, 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens and the James I. Perkins College of Education鈥檚 Department of Education Studies trained 71 糖心vlog传媒 students to conduct three Project Learning Tree activities for the event.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Stephen F. Austin State University is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dr. William R. Johnson, the university鈥檚 fourth president, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23. Johnson鈥檚 leadership, vision and dedication shaped 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 trajectory during his 14 years as president, from 1976 to 1990, making him one of the university鈥檚 longest-serving presidents.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Drs. Jessica Glasscock and Cord Eversole, assistant professors of forest wildlife management at Stephen F. Austin State University, have been awarded a grant of over $1 million from the Texas Department of Transportation. This funding will support their research project focused on the conservation and ecology of the alligator snapping turtle, a vital yet at-risk species in East Texas.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building.

Retired University of Arkansas extension specialist, Dr. Jim Robbins will present 鈥淓leven Gardens in Ten Days: An England Adventure.鈥�

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� In a campus-wide vote, Stephen F. Austin State University students have selected Pineywoods Dining as the official name for the new dining facility currently under construction at the corner of Wilson Drive and East College Street, which is set to open next year.

Pineywoods Dining emerged as the top choice, beating out two other contenders: Pine Grove Eatery and Timber Pines.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Stephen F. Austin State University has a full calendar of events for Homecoming 2024, including the annual Homecoming concert featuring headliner Josh Abbott Band and opener Heat Above beginning 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Intramural Fields.  

The fun is already underway with the 糖心vlog传媒 Alumni Association鈥檚 online Homecoming Auction 2024. Through Oct. 27, participants can bid on items ranging from custom 糖心vlog传媒 items to exciting travel packages. All proceeds go toward 糖心vlog传媒 Alumni Association student and alumni programming.

Austin State University students and their faculty representative recently learned that they are among 63 teams in the nation to gain acceptance into the competitive Scholars Transforming Through Research advocacy program, presented by the . This marks the first time 糖心vlog传媒 students have participated in the competitive application-based program.
