NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Three seniors from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Stephen F. Austin State University gained valuable real-world experience through prestigious internships during the summer of 2024. 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Two students in Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Rusche College of Business recently advanced to the second round of Fastenal鈥檚 National Sales Invitational by making compelling 90-second 鈥渆levator pitches鈥� for a fictional company as part of a pre-announced case study.

Brylee Adams, marketing senior from Houston, and Oscar Sanchez, management senior from Jasper, earned $200 each from the Rusche College of Business and a spot in the regional second round competition to be held in late October online.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Brent McLemore, former director of Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Center for Career and Professional Development, has been named director of the university鈥檚 new Center for Professional and Continuing Education, or PACE, which was created to leverage 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 knowledge resources to address the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis in Deep East Texas.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Student Engagement office invites local alumni and Nacogdoches community members to assist in building the foundation of the annual 糖心vlog传媒 Homecoming bonfire from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Intramural Fields.

The Homecoming bonfire will be lit the night of Oct. 25. More Homecoming details, including the full schedule and details on the concert headliner, will be released at a future date.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� A three-student cohort represented Stephen F. Austin State University at the 12th University Scholars Leadership Symposium in August at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. This marks the first time 糖心vlog传媒 students have participated in the symposium.

Facilitated through 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Office of International Programs, Oscar Sanchez, Brianna Patterson and Mackenzie Damon joined fellow students from around the world in Thailand to gain tools and confidence to tackle some of the world鈥檚 most pressing issues.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Office of the Provost has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board that aims to enhance the academic performance, retention and graduation rates of nursing students.

糖心vlog传媒 was selected out of 26 institutions across Texas to receive the competitive Student Success Acceleration Program 2.0 grant, 鈥淎ccelerating Nursing Students' Success.鈥� This program aligns with state and national efforts to address the critical shortage of registered nurses.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Center for Applied Research and Rural Innovation will host the Fall Faculty Showcase to highlight faculty research projects funded by CARRI grants. The event will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Rusche College of Business recently awarded the inaugural Sanner-Berry Business Professorship to Dr. Justin Blount, professor in the Department of Business Communication and Legal Studies. The new professorship was created through an endowment by Christine 鈥淐hris鈥� Sanner Berry and James 鈥淛im鈥� Berry, both 1985 graduates of 糖心vlog传媒.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 School of Art and the Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free, one-night screening of the classic comedy/horror film 鈥淕remlins鈥� at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct 4, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.

The Friday Films Committee selected 鈥淕remlins鈥� to celebrate the film鈥檚 40th anniversary and kick off the spooky season.
