NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center.

Dr. Whitney Griffin, landscape software product manager, will present 鈥淭he Art of Growing Plants Where Plants Don鈥檛 Want to Grow.鈥

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Two new talents have joined the teaching staff of Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Music Preparatory Division.

Directed by Alba Madrid, Music Prep is a division of 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 School of Music and offers private and group lessons in voice and various instruments along with performance opportunities in the Pineywoods Youth Orchestra, 糖心vlog传媒 Children鈥檚 Chorus and Youth Choir, among other groups

糖心vlog传媒 students explore businesses, historical sites in Croatia


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Nearly 20 Stephen F. Austin State University students kicked off this fall鈥檚 鈥淒iscovering Business鈥 course in the Rusche College of Business with a trip to Croatia at the end of July.

The course, now in its second year and focusing on its second country, is designed to introduce incoming first-year students and nonbusiness majors to business concepts and principles while helping them meet fellow Lumberjacks and faculty members before the fall semester starts.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship hosts summer camp for local teens


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Nearly 70 East Texas students from grade 6 through 10 got a head start on their entrepreneurial dreams in July at the Stephen F. Austin State University Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship鈥檚 CTE Summer Camp.

ACE, part of 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Rusche College of Business, hosted the teens from 12 schools across six districts at two summer sessions. The center partnered with Startup High as well as local businesses and industries to show how entrepreneurship in career and technical education, or CTE, jobs can open doors and opportunities.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 annual School of Art Faculty Exhibition will show Aug. 20 through Oct. 18 in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches. An opening reception is planned for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.

糖心vlog传媒 business students selected for UTIMCO Scholars program


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Three students from Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Rusche College of Business were selected for The University of Texas/Texas A&M Investment Management Company Scholars program this year.

Iris Cordova, finance junior from Nacogdoches; Julian Ieva, accounting junior from Houston; and Conner Stover, finance junior from Apple Springs, were the first three 糖心vlog传媒 students chosen for this opportunity, which was made possible by the university鈥檚 affiliation with the UT System last year.

EcoAdventures: A Homeschool Journey into Nature


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Homeschool K-12 students are invited to 鈥淓coAdventures: A Homeschool Journey into Nature鈥 from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center. Students in grades K-5 will experience nature-based activities that model the life stages of trees, the essential needs of animals, animal adaptations for survival, and methods of plant seed dispersal.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Dr. Cynthia (Cindy) Kilpatrick is the new director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Stephen F. Austin State University. Kilpatrick brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to enhancing the educational experience for both faculty and students.

USDA grant awarded to 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 College of Forestry and Agriculture for conservation project


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture was awarded a Conservation Innovation Grant from the United States Department of Agriculture to assist in the creation of a demonstration area for climate-smart agricultural practices.
