NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Symphonic and University Bands of Stephen F. Austin State University will present a joint concert, "Journeys," at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.

"The program will take the audience on a journey through a large part of the 'sound-spectrum offered by wind bands," said Brett A. Richardson, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ assistant director of bands and the Symphonic Band's conductor.

Staff Sgt. Gene Dooley, an ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ alumnus, will be the guest trumpet soloist during a joint concert of the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ jazz bands, the Swingin' Axes and Swingin' Aces, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in Cole Concert Hall.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University bands will present a free "Concert in the Park" at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, in the wooded area between the Baker Pattillo Student Center and the Wright Music Building on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.

Beginning at 1 p.m., Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma, honorary band service fraternity and sorority, will be selling $5 hamburger plates that include a hamburger, chips and a drink.

David Lambert will be honored as the Outstanding Music Alumnus by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music during the Friends of Music's annual Extravaganza, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the Hotel Fredonia Convention Center.

Stephen F. Austin State University will honor six faculty members at the Teaching Excellence Convocation on Wednesday, April 13, in the Regents Suites A and B in the Baker Pattillo Student Center. A reception for the honorees will begin at 3:30 p.m. followed by the Teaching Excellence Convocation at 4 p.m.
