Three Stephen F. Austin State University faculty members were granted tenure by the Board of Regents at a meeting Monday.

Danny Arnold, dean of the Nelson Rusche College of Business, and Judy Abbott, dean of the James I. Perkins College of Education, received tenure awards, along with Robbie Steward, chair of the Department of Human Services.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ to present saxophone quartet in concert


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Four saxophonists who comprise the Oasis Quartet will present "À la Française," a concert of French masterworks written or set for saxophone quartet, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, in Cole Concert Hall. The concert is a part of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music's Cole Performing Arts Series.

Nathan Nabb, newly hired associate professor of saxophone at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½, plays the soprano saxophone in the ensemble. Other members are James Bunte, alto saxophone; Dave Camwell, tenor saxophone; and James Romain, baritone saxophone.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Wind Ensemble concert recognizes three men


ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Director of Bands Fred J. Allen will be installed into the American Bandmasters Association during the Oct. 19 concert of the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Wind Ensemble, "The Music of Michael Daugherty." The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in W.M. Turner Auditorium.

Tickets on sale for Bowls of Hope charity dinner


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Tickets are now available for the annual Bowls of Hope charity dinner to be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Hotel Fredonia. All proceeds benefit the local Helping Other People Eat organization that helps feed residents of Nacogdoches County.

American Family Theater, Inc. will present an original musical version of "Cinderella" at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, in W.M. Turner Auditorium as part of the Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts' Children's Performing Arts Series.

'From the Diaries of Adam and Eve' scheduled at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Recent compositions by Stephen Lias, professor of music at Stephen F. Austin State University, will be performed during "From the Diaries of Adam and Eve" at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, in Cole Concert Hall.

The event's title refers to the centerpiece of the program, "a charming dramatic work about Adam and Eve for two singers and chamber ensemble with texts by Mark Twain," said Lias. "Highlighting the comic and poignant differences between the male and female viewpoints, the work will be performed by three married couples."

Historian to share personal recollections on German reunification


Ten years after the reunification of Germany, historian Bernhard Wagner will present "What Revolution Feels Like: A Personal Account of Events Leading to the Fall of the Berlin Wall" at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Theater at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Wagner, historian and lead tour guide for the DDR Museum (Museum of East Germany) in Berlin, will speak of his experiences as the former East Germany ceased to exist and, in October 1990, became part of the unified Federal Republic of Germany.
