May-mester returns to summer schedule
NACOGDOCHES, Tex.-Due to the success of Stephen F. Austin State University's inaugural May-mester session in 2008, a 12-day term will be offered again this summer. The May-mester session will begin on May 18 and end June 3.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas-Stephen F. Austin State University and community leaders will host a cooperative forum April 23 and 24 on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.
The seminar is titled "Community Development in a Time of Change: A Discussion about University and Community Cooperation." The public forum is designed to open lines of communication between the university and community leaders in order to effectively work together and make an impact in the lives of East Texans.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ to present the Piney Woods Camerata in concert
NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present the Piney Woods Camerata at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.
This will be the fourth concert presented by the conductor-less ensemble created in 2007. Performers for this concert include ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ string students and faculty members Jennifer Dalmas, violin; Christina Guenther, flute; Gene H. Moon, viola; and Evgeni Raychev, cello.
ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ to stage student-directed 'The Weir'

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ A Cappella Choir to present previews of Italy tour concerts
NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - While touring Italy May 20 through 30, the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ A Cappella Choir will perform in six different venues, sometimes presenting a concert program and at other times singing the music for a Mass. East Texans will have an opportunity to hear both programs at Sacred Heart Catholic Church the weekend of April 18 and 19.
Egg Hunt Planned at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Pineywoods Native Plant Center
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Gather up your Easter baskets and get ready for the 10th annual Tucker Memorial Easter Egg Hunt at the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Pineywoods Native Plant Center and Forest Resources Institute on Saturday, April 11, at 2900 Raguet St.
Children of all ages can participate in the egg hunt, as well as games, face painting and nature hikes along the trails. Learn about the Caddo Indian culture from Texas Parks and Wildlife staff, and visit with special guest, Smokey The Bear.
ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ to host "The BIG Event!"
NACOGDOCHES, TX - The Office of Student Life at Stephen F. Austin State University and the Nacogdoches County United Way have teamed up to promote a one-day, volunteer extravaganza: "The BIG Event!"
The community-service day will take place Friday, April 24, when ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ students will gather to thank the community by helping out with dozens of volunteer projects.
Michael Preston, director of student life, said ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ has many reasons to thank the Nacogdoches community. "It is our hope that, for at least one day, we can help give some of that back," Preston said.
ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Library announces Easter week schedule
The Ralph W. Steen Library at Stephen F. Austin State University will observe special operating hours during the week of Easter. The library will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, April 9-10.
The library will be closed on Saturday, April 11, and will reopen and resume normal operating hours at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 12.
