NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Piano enthusiasts of East Texas can mark their calendars for two guest piano recitals to be presented by the Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music.

James Nalley, a 2008 International Steinway Artist, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, and Kwan Yi, winner of the 2008 Schmidbauer International Young Artist Competition, will perform at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1. Both recitals are free and will be held in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.

A historical marker honoring the contributions of Dr. Paul Lewis Boynton to Stephen F. Austin State University was dedicated Tuesday in the Founders Plaza between the Austin and Rusk buildings on the campus.

The Stephen F. Austin State University Repertory Dance Company will perform in concert Jan. 29-31 in W.M. Turner Auditorium. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 3 PM on Saturday.

The concert features choreography by dance program faculty and guest artists. Dance majors Ashley Dodd and Taryn Taylor also have been invited to have their senior choreographic projects produced.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - A historical marker honoring the contributions of Dr. Paul Lewis Boynton to Stephen F. Austin State University will be unveiled this week.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, in the Founders Plaza between the Austin and Rusk Buildings on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus. The public is invited to attend the event, which is being held in conjunction with the university's Board of Regents meeting and is part of ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½'s yearlong 85th-anniversary celebration.

Austin State University, will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus. Performing with Utley will be three other members of the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ music faculty.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Two members of the faculty at Stephen F. Austin State University recently gave research presentations at the 85th annual convention of the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance in Corpus Christi.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Community members can still register for the bus tour the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art is sponsoring to the Dallas Cultural District on Friday, Feb. 13.

"We are offering a wonderful chance for community members to visit the Dallas Museum of Art where 'Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs' is currently on display," said Jill Carrington, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ associate professor of art history and the trip's coordinator. "Participants can also visit the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Crowe Collection of Asian Art."
