NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� A new concentration available through Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Master of Education in educational leadership prepares students to become leaders in the field of public-school athletic administration.

Beginning this fall, the James I. Perkins College of Education at 糖心vlog传媒 is offering an athletic director concentration that provides the needed skills and knowledge to effectively supervise both coaches and student-athletes.

The transformation of some courses to Zoom sessions presented more challenges than others.

Austin State University will provide speech and/or language teletherapy beginning June 1 for current clients of all ages and anyone receiving services through the school system or other clinics closed due to COVID-19.

It also will offer a limited number of online evaluations for potential clients.

糖心vlog传媒 graduate students will provide the clients鈥� teletherapy with 鈥�100% supervision from a licensed speech-language pathologist,鈥� said Deena Petersen, clinic director.

A virtual 鈥淨uarantine Concert鈥� will feature pre-recorded performances by students in the Sound Recording Technology program at 7 p.m. Monday, May 4, on the School of Music鈥檚 YouTube Channel.

Austin State University, the video of the exhibition and announcement of the winning entries will not be available for viewing until the afternoon of Tuesday, May 5, according to officials with The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.

During the past six weeks, Justin Pelham, food, nutrition and dietetics clinical instructor at 糖心vlog传媒, and students in his community nutrition courses have educated university faculty and staff members on nutrition and cooking healthy food on a budget through the Share Our Strength鈥檚 Cooking Matters program.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Six Stephen F. Austin State University students received top honors at the American Advertising Federation-Houston Student Conference held Nov. 3 and 4.

The federation comprises professionals from advertising, marketing and communications disciplines.

Students from 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 School of Art, Department of Management and Marketing, and Department of Mass Communication competed during the conference.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Music Preparatory Division in the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music has announced its fall recital schedule.

Piano students of 糖心vlog传媒 music major instructors and students of Dr. Mario Ajero will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, in Music Recital Hall in the Tom and Peggy Wright Music Building on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Wind Ensemble at Stephen F. Austin State University will present the program 鈥淎mericana鈥� at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

鈥淭his concert features music from different parts of America,鈥� said Fred J. Allen, director of bands and of the Wind Ensemble.

The featured work on the program will be 鈥淥utdoor Overture鈥� by Aaron Copland, who wrote both the orchestral and band versions of the piece in 1938.
