NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 A collaboration between the choral and orchestral departments in the School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University will bring together the 糖心vlog传媒 Symphony Orchestra, A Cappella Choir and combined choirs of Kantorei and Singin鈥 Axes performing Ralph Vaughan Williams鈥 鈥淒ona Nobis Pacem鈥 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
鈥淒ona Nobis Pacem,鈥 or 鈥淕rant Us Peace,鈥 features as vocal soloists music faculty members Dr. Scott LaGraff, baritone, and Debbie Berry, soprano.
糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Student Activities Association set to host Summer Movie Series
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 In an effort to keep children and families entertained during the summer months, Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Student Activities Association is set to host a number of family-friendly movies during its annual Summer Movie Series in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Theater.
All movies in the series are rated G to PG and will play on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the summer. This year鈥檚 movies include:
Bolt: 10 a.m. June 4 and 2 p.m. June 5
Zootopia: 10 a.m. June 11 and 2 p.m. June 12

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Dr. Roslyn Fraser, associate professor of sociology in Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Department of Anthropology, Geography and Sociology, has been named Fulbright Scholar for the 2024-25 academic year.
The Fulbright Program, the United States government鈥檚 flagship program for international educational and cultural exchange, selects university faculty members and professionals to conduct research, teach and produce artistic and professional projects in other countries in an effort to find solutions to challenges facing our world.
糖心vlog传媒 Gardens lecture series to highlight "Pines, Pawpaws and Pocket Prairies"
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. May 9 in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center.
Greg Grant, award-winning horticulturist, writer, conservationist, bulb farmer and seventh-generation East Texan, will present 鈥淧ines, Pawpaws and Pocket Prairies.鈥

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Trombone Choir at Stephen F. Austin State University will present an eclectic program of works composed in the last 50 years when the student ensemble performs at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
糖心vlog传媒 Jacks of Steel to present 鈥楢 Night of Latin and Friends鈥 program
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The steel drum band at Stephen F. Austin State University, also known as Jacks of Steel, will present the program 鈥淎 Night of Latin and Friends鈥 at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
鈥淎 Night of Latin and Friends鈥 focuses mainly on the music of Central and South America including music from Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil and Cuba, as well as popular Latin artists like Santana and Gloria Estefan, according to Dr. Jamie Vilseck, adjunct instructor of percussion and director of the Jacks of Steel.
Wind Symphony concert to feature world premiere of Reeves鈥 鈥楳eet Your Maker鈥
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 A world premiere of 鈥淢eet Your Maker鈥 by David Reeves will be a highlight of a concert by the Stephen F. Austin State University Wind Symphony when the student ensemble performs at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
Directed by Dr. Dan Haddad, associate director of bands at 糖心vlog传媒, the Wind Symphony will also perform standard pieces in the wind band repertoire in addition to newer works.
糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture partners with Temper Sealy on carbon neutrality initiative
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 A newly formed partnership between global bedding manufacturer Temper Sealy International and Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture promises to make progress toward the company鈥檚 goal of achieving carbon neutrality in its global operations by 2040 while giving 糖心vlog传媒 students access to hundreds of acres of living labs to reforest and manage.
Partnership in the initiative also sets the college up to fund future scholarships, assistantships and professional development for faculty members.
