NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Six Stephen F. Austin State University faculty members recently were selected to receive the university鈥檚 inaugural Service Excellence Awards. 

Since 1994, 糖心vlog传媒 has recognized faculty contributions to teaching with the Teaching Excellence Award, with one recipient from each of the university鈥檚 six colleges and one nontenure track recipient from the Faculty Senate. This year, the program expanded to include the Scholarly Excellence and Service Excellence awards to complement the longstanding Teaching Excellence Award. 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The bands of Stephen F. Austin State University will present the annual Concert in the Park at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in the wooded area along Vista Drive and in front of the Wright Music Building on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Sound Recording Technology groups, the Popular Music Ensemble and Commercial Music Ensemble, will perform concerts starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

Austin State University will present its annual spring concert, which will include the world premiere of 糖心vlog传媒 percussionist Carson Chlup鈥檚 鈥淪hattered Hearts,鈥� when the student music group performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Seven Stephen F. Austin State University faculty members recently were selected to receive Teaching Excellence Awards.

The award program is an opportunity to recognize outstanding faculty members for their contributions to the university through excellence as teachers. Each of the university鈥檚 six colleges selects a member of its faculty to receive an award. One 糖心vlog传媒 Faculty Senate member from among all colleges also is chosen.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Stone Fort Wind Quintet at Stephen F. Austin State University will present a recital of programmatic works featuring a varied collection of musical depictions when the faculty ensemble performs at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Symphonic Band and the University Band at Stephen F. Austin State University will present 鈥淪omething Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue鈥� featuring music faculty and student and community ensemble performances at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Tickets are selling quickly for the University Series performance of Delfeayo Marsalis and the Swingin鈥� Axes jazz band of Stephen F. Austin State University at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The importance of recognizing one鈥檚 beauty, self-worth and value is reflected in the play 鈥淩eal Women Have Curves鈥� to be presented by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre and Dance.

鈥淩eal Women Have Curves鈥� by Josefina L贸pez sends 鈥渁 profound message about self-image and body positivity, emphasizing the importance of embracing your true self and rejecting society's narrow standards of beauty,鈥� according to Michelle Guerrero, sophomore theatre major from Magnolia and the play鈥檚 stage manager.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Kevin Carr, a 1992 Stephen F. Austin State University finance graduate and owner of Community Beer Co. in Dallas, will be the speaker at the Rusche College of Business College to Career Conference keynote session from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. April 25 in the McGee Business Building, Room 133, on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus. The event is free and open to the public.
