NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - As part of its monthly film series, the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and Friends of the Visual Arts will present "Annie Leibovitz: Life Through a Lens" at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at The Cole Art Center, in downtown Nacogdoches.

Originally broadcast in 2008 as part of PBS's award-winning series "American Masters," the documentary takes an in-depth look at the influential career of iconic photographer Annie Leibovitz, from her earliest artistic efforts to her storied tenure at Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair magazines and beyond.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present a student-directed production of Carol Lashof's "Medusa's Tale" at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5. All performances will be in the Downstage Theatre located on the first floor of the Griffith Fine Arts Building.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony of Stephen F. Austin State University will present a joint band concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in W.M. Turner Auditorium. The Symphonic Band will perform a program of international music, and the Wind Symphony's selections all relate to angels and demons.

Dr. T. Parker Ballinger, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ professor of economics, was invited to serve as an Economic Science Institute affiliate at Chapman University in Orange, Calif., last October.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ seniors Alec Heffron of Emporia, Kan., and Alli Pagnotta of Canyon County, Calif., placed first in the Universal Cheerleaders Association national championships on Jan. 13 in Orlando, Fla. The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Spirit Teams' routines for nationals will be showcased at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 30, in William R. Johnson Coliseum.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - As part of the Cole Performing Arts Series, the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will present two faculty recitals this week, both at 7:30 p.m. in Cole Concert Hall.

Trombonist Deb Scott and pianist Ron Petti will perform on Monday, Jan. 30, and the Alazan Trio-composed of violinist Jennifer Dalmas, cellist Evgeni Raychev and Petti-will perform on Thursday, Feb. 2.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Wind Ensemble's 2012 Winter Tour will culminate in a 7:30 p.m. concert on Tuesday, Jan. 31, in W.M. Turner Auditorium. Under the direction of Fred J. Allen, director of bands at Stephen F. Austin State University, the ensemble will perform the program being presented to Austin, Temple and other Central Texas high schools Monday, Jan. 30, through Tuesday, Jan. 31.
