Paula Brusky will present a guest bassoon recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, in Cole Concert Hall and a lecture/workshop on injury prevention for musicians at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, in the Music Recital Hall. World-renowned pianist Barry Snyder will present a guest piano recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, in Cole Concert Hall as a prelude to the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music's 2012 Schmidbauer International Young Artists Piano Competition on Jan. 21 and 22.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Internationally acclaimed pianist Barry Snyder will kick off the 2012 Schmidbauer International Young Artist Piano Competition with a solo recital at 7:30 p.m.

'Rastlin' photographer to speak at Cole Art Center


This photograph by David McClister is included in "Rastlin - A Southern Survey," an exhibition at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches. The show, which documents small town wrestling in the South, will close on Saturday, Jan. 21. McClister's gallery talk at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, will be followed by a 6 to 8 p.m.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ children's series to present 'Junie B. Jones' musical


The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Children's Performing Arts Series will present the Theatreworks USA production of "Junie B. Jones" at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on both Thursday, Jan. 26, and Friday, Jan. 27, in W.M. Turner Auditorium. Tickets are still available for all four shows. The one-hour original musical is suggested for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
