NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Stone Fort Museum has named Rick Still and the late Frances A. Shofner as the 2023 Cum Concilio Club Heritage Preservation Award recipients.
The museum's biennial heritage preservation award was established in honor of the Cum Concilio Club's dedication to the preservation of Nacogdoches' cultural and historical landscape. The award recognizes a group or individual who has made significant contributions to the preservation of East Texas鈥 history and Nacogdoches' heritage.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens will host its annual 鈥淒eck the Halls: Using Evergreens to Decorate for the Holidays鈥 seminar from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 2 at the Brundrett Conservation Education Building in the Pineywoods Native Plant Center.
糖心vlog传媒 to present fall Danceworks concerts
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The School of Theatre and Dance at Stephen F. Austin State University will present the fall student-choreographed and student-produced Danceworks concerts Nov. 9 through 11 in the Dance Performance Studio, Griffith Fine Arts Building, on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
The Danceworks concerts are choreographed by senior dance students majoring in dance education or performance and choreography, according to Heather Samuelson, 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 dance program director.
Proposal deadline for national conference extended to Oct. 31
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The proposal submission deadline for the IMPACT national conference, scheduled for Feb. 22 to 25 at Stephen F. Austin State University, has been extended to Oct. 31.
For the first time in its 40 years, the largest annual event focused on the civic engagement of college students will take place in Texas at 糖心vlog传媒. The conference aims to strengthen student involvement in community service, service learning, community-based research, advocacy and social justice.
糖心vlog传媒 announces Narcan awareness, distribution initiative in conjunction with Red Ribbon Week and Fentanyl Awareness Month
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 emergency management office has announced an initiative aimed at enhancing the safety and well-being of the campus community by distributing Narcan, a potentially life-saving medication used to reverse opioid overdoses, to strategic locations around campus and by offering Narcan training sessions.
The announcement coincides with both Red Ribbon Week and October鈥檚 Fentanyl Awareness Month, the latter of which was established earlier this year by Gov. Greg Abbott鈥檚 signing of House Bill 3144.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Office of Multicultural Affairs is preparing for its annual MLK Day of Service, slated for Jan. 15, 2024, and is currently accepting service project requests for the Nacogdoches community.
The MLK Day of Service is an annual event that honors the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. During the event, participants will volunteer their time and assist local agencies with various community service projects that will positively impact the Nacogdoches community.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Experience an unforgettable Halloween 鈥渟pooktacular鈥 concert with the Stephen F. Austin State University Symphony Orchestra when the student ensemble performs Hector Berlioz鈥檚 鈥淪ymphony Fantastique鈥 at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, in Turner Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre and Dance will present the student-directed full-length play 鈥淢oon Over Buffalo鈥 by Ken Ludwig at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, in the new Black Box Theater in the Griffith Fine Arts Building, 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
