Stephen F. Austin State University's Richard and Lucille ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ of Nursing has earned the prestigious "Center of Educational Excellence" designation from the Laerdal Medical Corporation.
The designation is awarded to educational centers that have consistently demonstrated excellence in educational philosophy and programs for the purposes of "helping save lives," the company's motto. The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ of Nursing is one of only 15 centers in the nation to receive the award.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Advertising slogans such as "Just Do It," "I Love NY," "Where's the Beef?" and "got milk?" are explored in Doug Pray's documentary "Art & Copy," which the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art will present at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.
The free, one-night screening is a part of the monthly film series sponsored in part by the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Friends of the Visual Arts. The Ad Design program at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ is also sponsoring this screening.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS-Area 6- to 12-year-olds may register for a puppet-making class offered by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House as part of the Creative Art Saturday program.

NACOGDOCHES - With approximately 1,000 people expected at Friday's Liverpool Legends concert in ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½'s W.M. Turner Auditorium, the College of Fine Arts recommends that attendees allow time for parking.
"We have ample parking for our patrons, but the number of spaces on Alumni Drive immediately in front of the Griffith Fine Arts Building is limited," said Diane Flynn, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Box Office manager. "Plus, most of those will be reserved for our VIP patrons who have purchased a special parking pass."

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Board of Regents approves new admission standards
Stephen F. Austin State University will increase its admission standards for first-time freshmen beginning with the fall 2012 semester.
The ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Board of Regents approved the change at a Monday board meeting based on a recommendation from the university's administration. Raising freshman admission standards is one of the goals included in ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½'s comprehensive five-year strategic plan.
