Guest violinist to perform at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Karen Clarke, a member of the music faculty at Vanderbilt University, will present a guest violin recital at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus. The recital is free and open to the public.

American classic, 'A Raisin in the Sun,' to open at ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ jazz bands' to present join concert


The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present the Swingin' Axes and Swingin' Aces jazz bands in a joint concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.

Under the direction of Deb Scott, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ assistant professor of music, the Swingin' Aces will perform Mark Taylor's "Tribute to Miles," which is a medley of famous jazz pieces by Miles Davis, including "So What," "All Blues," "Seven Steps to Heaven" and "Milestones."

Stone Fort Museum to host Black History Month lecture


Avocational archeologist Tom Middlebrook will present, "Raphael D'Ortolan, an African Creole on the El Camino Real de los Tejas," in a March 1 luncheon lecture at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Hosted by the Stone Fort Museum as the second in a series celebrating Black History Month, the lecture is co-sponsored by the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture and will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Temple Forestry Building, Room 117.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Red Stick Saxophone Quartet will present a guest artist recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, in Cole Concert Hall on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus. The recital is free and open to the public.

Renowned storyteller Susan Strauss will present "Storytelling: A Way of Knowing - One Storyteller's Journey through Traditional and Personal Story" at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19 in Liberal Arts North, Room 142.

Brian Marks, member of the Baylor University music faculty, will present a duo piano recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ to present student-written, student-directed one act


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present a student-directed production of "Coffee and John" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20. All performances will be in the Downstage Theatre on the first floor of the Griffith Fine Arts Building, 2222 Alumni Dr.
