John and Jean Roberts will present "Music of Copland and Gershwin for Two Pianos" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus. John is the new director of the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ School of Music, and his wife, Jean, is a member of the music faculty.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ School of Nursing receives grant for exceptional performance


The Richard and Lucille ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ of Nursing at Stephen F. Austin State University recently was awarded a $25,000 grant for its exceptional performance in producing initial licensure registered nurses.

Of the nearly 100 nursing programs in the state, three grants were awarded by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to higher education institutions in the State of Texas. These schools met graduation and licensure rates of at least 85 percent and demonstrated a best practice in achieving these rates.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ to offer children's paper sculpture class


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art will again be offering art workshops for area 6- to 12-year-olds from 2 to 4 p.m. once a month at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.

Registrations are now being accepted for this year's first Creative Art Saturday to be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5. Participants will create paper art sculptures under the direction of ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ art faculty members Dr. Marsha Blount and Matthew Sutherlin. Assisting them will be ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ art and education majors.
