The 12th-annual Georgiana and Max S. Lale Lecture will be presented by Dr. Don Graham, the J. Frank Dobie Professor of American and English Literature at the University of Texas in Austin.
'Pirates of the Pineywoods' party planned for Native Plant Center
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - An afternoon of outdoor adventure and excitement awaits at the Pirates of the Pineywoods party from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St.
Aspiring pirates are encouraged to wear their favorite pirate costume as they embark on a voyage through the forest to dig for buried treasure, battle sea creatures, and walk the plank, among other adventures. Food, drink and treasures galore will be served up to the whole crew.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University has recorded its highest enrollment in a decade with 11,990 students, a 3.3-percent increase from last fall.
ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ enrollment increased by 383 students between Fall 2007 and Fall 2008, marking the largest increase in fall enrollment since 1983. In addition, the number of new students attending ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ for the first time increased by 312, or 8.3 percent.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - In celebration of Stephen F. Austin State University's 85th anniversary, cake and ice cream will be served at noon Thursday at the Baker Pattillo Student Center plaza.
