糖心vlog传媒 students to host fifth annual Spring Plant Fair on campus featuring summer annuals


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 horticulture program will host their fifth annual Spring Plant Fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at the 糖心vlog传媒 Plantery located at 1924 Wilson Drive. 

Plants available for purchase include a variety of summer annuals like coleus, vinca, ornamental sweet potato, summer snapdragon, wishbone flower and more. All grow well in the East Texas area.  

Louisiana state extension specialist to be 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens鈥 May lecture series speaker


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. May 11 in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center.

Heather Kirk-Ballard, an assistant professor and state extension specialist for consumer horticulture at the Louisiana State University AgCenter, will present 鈥淭ips and Tricks for Maximizing Sustainable Space in Your Garden.鈥

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Model EU team earns Best Delegation honors at the Midwest Model European Union competition


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Model European Union team, which consists of nine political science majors and one international business major, earned Best Delegation honors at the Midwest Model European Union competition for the second year in a row.
 

Pianist McGaughey to present video game music program at 糖心vlog传媒


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Pianist Ryan McGaughey will present 鈥淎n Adventure Through Video Game Music鈥 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in the Music Recital Hall on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.
 
McGaughey, who teaches piano at Humboldt State University in Northern California, also performs and writes music for video games. Most of the music on the program is from relatively recent video games, all of them being released in the past six years.
 

糖心vlog传媒 bands to present annual Concert in the Park


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The bands at Stephen F. Austin State University will present the annual Concert in the Park Sunday, April 23, in the wooded area along Vista Drive and in front of the Wright Music Building on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus. The concert begins at 2 p.m. and is free to the public.
 

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 jazz bands to perform works by faculty members Morris, Birk


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The jazz bands of Stephen F. Austin State University will perform original works by 糖心vlog传媒 music faculty members, along with the music of Sammy Nestico, Duke Ellington and other jazz greats, in a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, in Cole Concert Hall.
 
The Swingin鈥 Axes, directed by Dr. JD Salas, will perform 鈥淵mir鈥檚 Bones鈥 by Dr. Ben Morris, assistant professor of composition, from Morris鈥 debut album, "Pocket Guides," released in June 2022 on Origin/OA2 Records.
 

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Moreno to present 鈥楻ediscovered and Unearthed鈥 oboe recital


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Dr. Pablo Moreno, adjunct faculty oboe instructor at Stephen F. Austin State University, will present the recital program 鈥淩ediscovered and Unearthed鈥 at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
 
Joining Moreno on the concert are colleagues Dr. Jennifer Dalmas, violin; Melissa Nabb, viola; 脰zge Ser莽eler, cello; and Dr. Minhae Lee, harpsichord.
 
The program will feature works by Wolfgang Amadeaus Mozart, Johann Gottlieb Janitsch, Sim贸n D铆az and Chaya Czernowin.
 

糖心vlog传媒 presents 鈥楻eading and Rhyming with Mother Goose鈥


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Seats are still available for the April 26 performances of 鈥淩eading and Rhyming with Mother Goose,鈥 a presentation of the Micky Elliott College of Fine Arts and its Children鈥檚 Performing Arts Series at Stephen F. Austin State University.
 

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Symphonic Band, University Band to present 鈥榃orld Tour鈥 program


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Music representing locations and composers from around the world will be performed by the Symphonic Band and University Band at Stephen F. Austin State University at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in the Grand Ballroom of the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
 
Titled 鈥淲orld Tour,鈥 the concert features the University Band performing works referencing locations around the globe through titles and/or programmatic content, according to Dr. Chris Kaatz, assistant director of bands at 糖心vlog传媒.
 

SRT student ensembles to perform at Banita Creek Hall


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Student ensembles in the Sound Recording Technology program at Stephen F. Austin State University will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Banita Creek Hall.
