NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� With a grant from the Center for Applied Research and Rural Innovation at Stephen F. Austin State University, the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Art has developed a new student docent program at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House. Additionally, the grant support will enable the return of the popular School of Art Friday Night Film series.
 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Larry Greer, adjunct faculty instructor of guitar at Stephen F. Austin State University, will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 JacksTeach program and Center for Applied Research and Rural Innovation are hosting a series of workshops this summer on inquiry science lab solutions for high school teachers. 

These workshops are designed to help teachers facilitate and prepare true inquiry-based labs, use lab technology and equipment in an inquiry setting, and maintain a safe laboratory environment. 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Dr. Deb Scott, professor of trombone and bass trombone at Stephen F. Austin State University, will perform works by living composers in a recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
 
Works of two prominent women composers, including Ida Gotkovsky and Elizabeth Raum, will be featured along with works by Ben Morris, 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 new composition faculty member, and by Canadian composer Michalis Andronikou.
 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Singin鈥� Axes and Kantorei choirs at Stephen F. Austin State University will welcome Fort Worth ISD Lone Star Youth Chorus and its director, Jesse Cannon II, along with other guests to perform in a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, in Cole Concert Hall on the university campus.
 
The program, 鈥淗olding the Light: A Black History Month Celebration鈥� will feature works by Robert Ray, B.E. Boykin and Marques L.A. Garrett, according to Dr. Tod Fish, associate director of choral activities at 糖心vlog传媒 and Singin鈥� Axes and Kantorei director.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Stephen F. Austin State University 糖心vlog传媒 of Nursing held its inaugural Nursing Leadership Conference Feb. 3 to inspire emerging leaders in the field through dynamic speakers, career placement vendors and an 糖心vlog传媒 alumni panel discussion.

The conference hosted fourth-semester nursing students, as well as nursing students from Panola College in Carthage.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Office of Multicultural Affairs and the 糖心vlog传媒 of Nursing have formed a partnership to train all nursing students and faculty in critical issues relating to diversity and multicultural education.

Dr. Katy Trotty, assistant professor and coordinator for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, said the training will focus on giving students and faculty tools to grow personally and professionally.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� College-bound students and their families are invited to Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 in-person, on-campus Showcase Saturday event Feb. 25, which offers participants a unique opportunity to experience life as a Lumberjack.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Pineywoods Camerata at Stephen F. Austin State University will perform Baroque music from Germany and Italy when faculty members and students present a recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, in Cole Concert Hall in the Wright Music Building on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
 
The Pineywoods Camerata is a string faculty-led, conductorless ensemble dedicated to performing Baroque works with an informed stylistic approach, according to Dr. Jennifer Dalmas, professor of violin at 糖心vlog传媒 and Camerata member. The group usually performs once each academic year.
