NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Chicago-based ~Nois Saxophone Quartet will bring their signature concert experience combining contemporary chamber music and improvisation to Cole Concert Hall on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus when the ensemble performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 17.
~Nois has become one of the premier ensembles in the U.S. The group has been awarded top prizes at prestigious chamber music competitions including the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and the M-Prize International Arts Competition.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 A proclamation event was held Wednesday at Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 School of Social Work to kick off Social Work Month, as well as a number of events the school will host to honor the social work profession.
Nacogdoches County Commissioner Robin Dawley delivered the proclamation to the School of Social Work鈥檚 faculty members, field instructors, students and others in attendance.
International violinist Oh to perform concert with 糖心vlog传媒 pianist Lee
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 International violinist Dr. Namjoo Oh will collaborate with Dr. Minhae Lee, assistant professor of piano at Stephen F. Austin State University, in a chamber music recital at 6 p.m. Friday, March 17, in the Music Recital Hall, Wright Music Building, on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
The concert program will feature Sonata for Piano and Violin No.21 in E minor, K. 304 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; Violin Sonata in A major, Op. 100 by Johannes Brahms; and Sonata in A major for Violin and Piano by C茅sar Franck.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Office of Multicultural Affairs is holding the university鈥檚 sixth annual Women鈥檚 Empowerment Summit from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 17 in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Twilight Ballroom.
Students, professional staff, community members and faculty from various institutions across Texas will gather to discuss empowering women from various backgrounds through topics including professional development, education, etiquette, health and body image. The summit features a panel discussion during lunch.

Austin State University will present 鈥淎n Evening of Chamber Music for Voice, Viola and Piano鈥 featuring guest artist musicians from the University of Florida performing at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
鈥淎ll three guest artists are faculty from the University of Florida, and they are currently traveling through Texas, visiting different universities with their concert program and giving master classes for students,鈥 said Dr. Jennifer Dalmas, professor of violin at 糖心vlog传媒.

International trombonist Tamaki Hoso to perform at 糖心vlog传媒
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 International artist Yu Tamaki Hoso will present a guest trombone recital at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, in the Music Recital Hall, Wright Music Building, on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.
A Japanese solo trombonist active worldwide, Tamaki Hoso is a chamber and orchestra musician, educator, entrepreneur, published author and producer.

Bill Bryant, an 糖心vlog传媒 grounds worker and one of the eight recipients of this year鈥檚 President鈥檚 Achievement Award, helps ensure that top-three finish year after year.
Not one to toot his own horn, Bryant鈥檚 absence was excused by 糖心vlog传媒 President Dr. Steve Westbrook when the university鈥檚 Board of Regents recognized the first four award recipients during their January meeting.
Stone Fort Museum to host St. Patrick鈥檚 Day concert on 糖心vlog传媒 campus
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Stone Fort Museum will host a St. Patrick鈥檚 Day concert featuring local band El Camino Real de Nacogdoches from 2 to 3 p.m. March 11.
This year鈥檚 St. Patrick鈥檚 Day concert marks the return of the annual event since the last one was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
