NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Symphony Orchestra at Stephen F. Austin State University will perform music by some of America鈥檚 greatest composers in the orchestra鈥檚 first concert of the fall semester at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

The 糖心vlog传媒 Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Dr. Gregory Grabowski, director of orchestral activities at 糖心vlog传媒, will perform works by Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland and George Gershwin.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Stephen F. Austin State University Interim President Dr. Steve Westbrook and Lamar State College Orange President Dr. Tom Johnson met today on LSCO鈥檚 campus to reaffirm their 2019 Articulation Agreement that guarantees credits earned at LSCO will seamlessly transfer to 糖心vlog传媒 for students wanting to complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present the student-directed one-act play 鈥淭he Yellow Boat鈥� by David Saar at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, in Regents Suite A in the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Faculty members of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will be the featured performers during the annual Pi Kappa Lambda Music Faculty Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

The concert highlights the talents of the diverse School of Music performing faculty, according to Dr. Jamie Weaver, associate professor of music history at 糖心vlog传媒 and president of Pi Kappa Lambda honors society. Proceeds from the concert fund scholarships for deserving 糖心vlog传媒 music majors selected by the honors society.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Ticket sales for Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 student-run Culinary Caf茅 and Lumberjack Express mobile food lab will open at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, with food service beginning at both eateries Sept. 27.

Tickets for Culinary Caf茅, located at 1401 Mound St., are $12 for a three-course meal, along with tea, coffee and water. Tickets are not limited per person but quickly sell out. Lunch will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday. Guests are encouraged to arrive by 12:15 p.m.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� As part of its goal to provide expert economic research, analysis and consulting services in the East Texas region and beyond, Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Rusche College of Business has established the Center for Business and Economic Research.
 
Housed in 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Department of Economics and Finance, the nonprofit center offers data analysis, market research and economic impact analysis to the community while providing real-world training to 糖心vlog传媒 students.
 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II鈥檚 Consul General Richard Hyde and senior staff members from the British Consulate in Houston will make Stephen F. Austin State University their first stop on a 2,500-mile road trip celebrating the Queen鈥檚 Platinum Jubilee.

As part of their stop, consulate staff and university administrators will host a tree planting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, along Aikman Drive. The Nacogdoches and campus communities are invited to attend.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� A dream internship for a Sound Recording Technology student at Stephen F. Austin State University led Andrea Pacas to work this past summer with a producer and band she greatly admired, and the experience put her one step closer to the goal of one day owning her own recording studio.

A senior from Tyler who is on track to graduate from 糖心vlog传媒 in December 2022, Pacas received mixing assistant credit on what is currently Billboard鈥檚 No. 8 album in the Top 200 and No. 3 on the UK rock and metal charts.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Stephen F. Austin State University Alumni Association will honor eight alumni during its awards banquet beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at The Fredonia Hotel in Nacogdoches.
