糖心vlog传媒 Chamber Singers to present 鈥楲ighten My Darkness鈥


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Chamber Singers at Stephen F. Austin State University will perform choral music with themes of light, darkness and hope. The 鈥淟ighten My Darkness鈥 concert will feature works by Jeffrey Van, Alice Parker, Tomas de Victoria, Josu Elberdin, Moses Hogan, Troy Robertson, Reginald Unterseher and Zachary Moore.

The students perform at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus. Dr. Michael Murphy, director of choral activities at 糖心vlog传媒, conducts the Chamber Singers.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Planning is underway for the 12 X 12 Scholarship Fundraiser hosted by the Friends of the Visual Arts at Stephen F. Austin State University and benefiting students in the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Art, and event sponsorship opportunities are still available.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Rusche College of Business names Dr. Marcus Cox coordinator of Business and Community Services


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Dr. Marcus Cox, associate professor of management in Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Rusche College of Business, has been named coordinator for Business and Community Services, a new entity launched by the college to assist local and regional businesses, nonprofits and government entities with business-related activities.

糖心vlog传媒 reports fall 2022 enrollment numbers


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 More students are graduating sooner, and more first-year students are persisting in their studies, according to Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 fall 2022 enrollment numbers and success reports.

Even with a decrease in overall enrollment, the university saw growth among several populations and achieved its highest six-year graduation rate in the university鈥檚 history.

Cho to present music of Scriabin in 糖心vlog传媒 concert


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University will present guest pianist Sung-Soo Cho in a recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

Cho will present 鈥淎lexander Scriabin's 150th: The Complete 脡tudes for Piano.鈥

鈥淚 first learned about the half (Op. 8) several years ago, and learned the rest of them in the following years,鈥 Cho said. 鈥淚 first presented them in their entirety at the beginning of the pandemic, and when I could first bring them back, it is the composer鈥檚 150th year!鈥

77th U.S. Army Band members to perform trombone, marimba concert at 糖心vlog传媒


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Works for trombone and marimba will be featured in a guest recital performed by two members of the 77th U.S. Army Band at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, in Cole Concert Hall on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.

Staff Sgt. Adam Walton, marimba, and Sgt. Jonathan Stoby, trombone, will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Andrew Beall, Johannes Brahms, Alexandre Guilmant, Franz Schubert and Georg Philipp Telemann in the concert presented by the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Music.

鈥極skar鈥檚 Not So Simple Comeback鈥 to open 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 children鈥檚 series


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Children鈥檚 Performing Arts Series at Stephen F. Austin State University will open its 2022-23 season on Thursday, Oct. 6, with three performances of Alley Theatre鈥檚 鈥淥skar鈥檚 Not So Simple Comeback.鈥

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 jazz bands to present 鈥楽wingin鈥 At The Brewery鈥 fundraiser


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Swingin鈥 Axes and Swingin鈥 Aces jazz bands at Stephen F. Austin State University will present their fall 鈥淪wingin鈥 At The Brewery鈥 fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Fredonia Brewery in downtown Nacogdoches.

Admission to the outdoor concert is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Music鈥檚 jazz program, according to Dr. J.D. Salas, professor of tuba and euphonium studies and director of the Swingin鈥 Axes.

糖心vlog传媒 Showcase Preview to give prospective students and families a snapshot of college life


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 College-bound students and their families are invited to Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Showcase Preview, a weekday open-house event to be held Oct. 10.

鈥淲e鈥檝e designed our Showcase 糖心vlog传媒 events to give attendees an up-close and personal look at everything our campus has to offer,鈥 said Emily Jefferson, 糖心vlog传媒 director of undergraduate recruitment. 鈥淭he college search process can be intense, and 糖心vlog传媒 provides events like Showcase Preview for prospective students and their families to experience our campus in really unique ways.鈥

糖心vlog传媒 researchers contribute to global pollinator data set


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Dr. Reuber Antoniazzi, visiting professor of forest wildlife management, and 糖心vlog传媒 forestry doctoral student Tatiana Suarez Joaqui joined an impromptu cohort of more than 70 ecologists from across the globe to assemble a critical data set of pollinator and plant interactions in the safety of their own backyard during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown.
