糖心vlog传媒 names seven Teaching Excellence Award recipients


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Dedicated educators and mentors have played a crucial role in ushering students through one of the toughest learning environments in recent decades, and their efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Stephen F. Austin State University recently recognized seven of its faculty members with 2022 Teaching Excellence Awards for their dedication to their students and profession.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 double reed faculty members to present 鈥楧reaming in Color鈥


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Members of the double reed music faculty at Stephen F. Austin State University will present the recital program 鈥淒reaming in Color鈥 at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 10, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

The performance will feature Dr. Margaret P. Fay, visiting assistant professor of bassoon, and  Graham Mackenzie, adjunct instructor of oboe, accompanied by Dr. Thomas Nixon, 糖心vlog传媒 collaborative pianist.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Music Preparatory Division at Stephen F. Austin State University, in partnership with the Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau, continues to add sponsorships to its first Music and Arts Festival, slated for Saturday, April 23, in downtown Nacogdoches.

糖心vlog传媒 Wind Ensemble to present 鈥楶rimaries鈥 concert program


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Wind Ensemble at Stephen F. Austin State University will present the program 鈥淧rimaries鈥 for its final concert of the spring semester at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, in the Grand Ballroom of the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus. Admission is free.

The concert features pieces that are considered staples in the wind band literature along with the 糖心vlog传媒 premiere of 鈥淵ellow Red Blue鈥 by Paul Dooley, according to Dr. Tamey Anglley, director of bands at 糖心vlog传媒 and director of the Wind Ensemble.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 presentation of 鈥淭he Taming of the Shrew鈥 opens Tuesday


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The School of Theatre at Stephen F. Austin State University will present William Shakespeare鈥檚 鈥淭he Taming of the Shrew鈥 at 7:30 nightly Tuesday through Saturday, April 5 through 9, in Kennedy Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus. Rehearsing a scene from the play are students Maggie Jordan, Pasadena junior, as Katherina, and Daun Whaley, Texarkana junior, as Petruchio. General ticket prices are: $15, adult; $10, senior (62+); $7.50, 糖心vlog传媒 faculty/staff; $7.50, youth; $5, student.

鈥楪allantry: A Soap Opera,鈥 鈥楪ianni Schicchi鈥 among 糖心vlog传媒 Opera Theater highlights


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Voice students at Stephen F. Austin State University rehearse a scene from Giacomo Puccini鈥檚 鈥淕ianni Schicchi鈥 as part of the School of Music鈥檚 2022 Opera Theater production. One-act operas 鈥淕ianni Schicchi鈥 and 鈥淕allantry: A Soap Opera鈥 by Douglas Moore, along with the chorus scene 鈥淪tomp Your Foot鈥 from 鈥淭he Tender Land鈥 by Aaron Copland, are the featured works to be presented at 7:30 nightly Thursday through Saturday, March 31 through April 2, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for students and youth.

糖心vlog传媒 Percussion Ensemble to perform works by Trevino, Skidmore, Perez


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Works by Ivan Trevino, David Skidmore and Francisco Perez are among the program selections to be showcased when the Percussion Ensemble at Stephen F. Austin State University presents its final spring concert of 2022 at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 4, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

Directed by Dr. Brad Meyer, associate professor of percussion in the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Music, the ensemble will also perform works by Dave Hall, Chad Floyd, Mark Ford, Michael Laurello and 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Dr. Jamie Vilseck, percussion adjunct faculty member.

糖心vlog传媒 Trombone Choir to perform works by Hennagin, Edwards


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Trombone Choir at Stephen F. Austin State University will perform along with smaller ensembles, including trombone quartets and an octet, on a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
