NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The American students weren鈥檛 quite sure how to do a traditional Tunisian dance, which requires a flare of the hip and a flick of the wrist, but at least they were willing to try. At a presentation hosted by 11 visitors from the North African nation on the Mediterranean coast, Stephen F. Austin State University was at last able to enjoy something that鈥檚 been largely missing for a year 鈥� international experiences.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Lumberjacks and friends of Stephen F. Austin State University are encouraged to participate in the university鈥檚 inaugural Giving Day, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 16.

The theme, 鈥�23 Reasons for 24 Hours,鈥� will highlight 23 unique aspects of 糖心vlog传媒 through social media posts and emails.

Twenty-three is symbolic for 糖心vlog传媒 because 1923 is the year the university officially opened. It is significant for Giving Day because it is exactly the number of reasons detailed in a 1917 brochure encouraging policymakers to establish the university in Nacogdoches. 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯�� Dr. Douglas Brinkley, CNN presidential historian and professor of history at Rice University, will present 鈥淒iscovering America from the Road鈥� from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept.14, at Stephen F. Austin State University in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Theater.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Daymond John is an award-winning entrepreneur who founded FUBU, a streetwear fashion brand that to this day has garnered more than $6 billion in product sales worldwide. But as big as FUBU is now, it all started out with a detail as small as a stitch. His mother taught him how to sew, a skill that powered John's rise from an ambitious everyman in New York City to a global entrepreneur who sees opportunities at every turn.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Stephen F. Austin State University art professor Piero Fenci and two of his students will exhibit ceramic works in upcoming shows in the Houston and Dallas areas.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The talents of new faculty members in the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will be showcased in a recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

鈥淥ur new faculty members not only have extensive teaching experience but each is also a sought-after performing artist, having performed across the U.S. and around the world at music festivals and schools as soloists, chamber players and orchestral musicians,鈥� according to Dr. Nathan Nabb, interim director of the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Music.
