糖心vlog传媒: Multiple characters, costumes challenge 鈥楻ideshare/Overshare鈥 actors, designer


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 When the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre presents the play 鈥淩ideshare/Overshare,鈥 audiences will see each cast member playing multiple characters that the theatre students have thoughtfully and carefully created.

Each of these characters has a unique personality and an equally unique costume specifically designed to fit the wacky persona developed by the imaginative student actors.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Whether it means spending hours paddling a canoe down a river or wading into it herself, Jessie Johnson, a graduate student in Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Department of Biology, is doing what she can to study and protect a threatened species of snake.
 
Working under a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Conservation License Plate Grant, Johnson is studying the Brazos River watersnake and its habitat, assisting in providing an updated understanding of the snake鈥檚 occurrence and demography.

糖心vlog传媒 plans for safe spring 2021, nears end of successful fall semester


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Registration for spring 2021 at Stephen F. Austin State University will begin Monday, Nov. 9, as campus faculty, staff and administrators gear up to offer another safe and highly flexible academic semester.

The spring 2021 semester at 糖心vlog传媒 is expected to operate much like fall 2020, according to Dr. Scott Gordon, 糖心vlog传媒 president.

Dr. David Creech named International Plant Propagators鈥 Society Fellow


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Dr. David Creech, Stephen F. Austin State University professor emeritus of agriculture and director of 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens, received the Southern Region of the International Plant Propagators鈥 Society Fellow Award during a virtual conference held in October.

The award honors individuals for ongoing contributions to the nursery industry and plant propagation in the Southern region.

糖心vlog传媒 students to host plant sale on campus featuring winter annuals


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 horticulture program will host an annual fall plant sale from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the 糖心vlog传媒 Plantery, located at 1924 Wilson Drive.  

Plants available for purchase include a variety of winter annuals, such as pansies, violas, wallflowers, sweet alyssum and snapdragons. All plants are winter hardy and grow well in East Texas. Plants are $2 per pot or $32 for a tray of 18 plants.  

糖心vlog传媒 partners with Texas A&M University System to offer teaching degree in Bryan-College Station


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University has partnered with Texas A&M University System鈥檚 RELLIS Academic Alliance to offer a face-to-face completer program for the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies鈥 early childhood through grade 6 concentration in Bryan-College Station.
 
This partnership, beginning in fall 2021, will help students from Blinn College District and other institutions seamlessly transition into the 糖心vlog传媒 program.
 

糖心vlog传媒 student jazz musicians to present outdoor concert downtown


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The acclaimed jazz program at Stephen F. Austin State University will present its first and only live concert of the fall semester from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, behind the Nacogdoches Convention & Visitors Bureau in downtown.

糖心vlog传媒 recognizes 2020 Teaching Excellence Award honorees


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Perhaps this year more than any other has demonstrated the value of teachers. From adapting learning environments due to COVID-19 to going the extra mile to ensure their students remain engaged and learning, teachers continue to make a difference. Stephen F. Austin State University recently recognized seven of its faculty members with 2020 Teaching Excellence Awards for their dedication to their students and profession.

Music Prep students qualify for All Region orchestras


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 A number of students enrolled in the Music Preparatory Division of the School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University have qualified for All Region orchestras.

The competition took place Oct. 10 through 14. Students recorded their audition on a platform on the Texas Music Educators Association website, and qualifiers were notified the following week. Their clinic/concert will be at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at Tyler High School.

Traffic patterns to be affected by Griffith Fine Arts Building construction


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Demolition is winding down inside the Griffith Fine Arts Building on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus in conjunction with a fine arts expansion and renovation project that will add nearly 68,000 square feet to the current building.

Phase II of the project 鈥  construction/expansion of the building 鈥 will soon be underway and is being described by construction officials as 鈥渁n extensive project鈥 that will start with massive dirt removal, including digging a hole deeper than the current Johnson Coliseum expansion and three times larger.
