Austin State University鈥檚 geography program within the Department of Anthropology, Geography and Sociology, an attorney for the Native American Rights Fund will serve as guest speaker for the 2016 Geography Awareness Week taking place nationally Nov. 13 through 19.
Steven Moore鈥檚 presentation, titled 鈥淟egal History of the Peyote Religion and Its Connections to Texas,鈥 will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in Dugas Liberal Arts North, Room 142, on campus. The event is free and open to the 糖心vlog传媒 and Nacogdoches communities.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Children鈥檚 Performing Arts Series at Stephen F. Austin State University will present two performances of 鈥淐elebration USA! America Sings!鈥 on Friday, Dec. 2, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
Presented by Stars Within Reach Productions, 鈥淐elebration USA! America Sings!鈥 features a variety of musical styles 鈥 from soulful gospel to sultry swing, heartfelt country to rock-n-roll 鈥 to track the cultural and historical moments that helped shape the nation, according to Diane Peterson, Fine Arts Box Office manager and coordinator of the series.
糖心vlog传媒 alumni, faculty members raise funds to purchase brick in memory of graduate
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University alumni and faculty members from the deaf and hard of hearing program have raised funds to purchase a brick on the Walk of Recognition in memory of Niki Satterwhite, an 糖心vlog传媒 graduate who passed away from cancer in 2014.
The Walk of Recognition is located in the Sesquicentennial Plaza near the 糖心vlog传媒 fountain on campus, and the hand-etched bricks symbolize one鈥檚 tribute to the university.

Guest cello duo to perform at 糖心vlog传媒
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Guest artists Paul Christopher and Milovan Paz will present a program of cello duos by French composer Jacques Offenbach when they perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Cole Concert Hall on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus.
Selections will be drawn from the artists鈥 two recordings of Offenbach cello duos, as well as an ensemble piece for multiple cellos, featuring the 糖心vlog传媒 cello studio under the direction of Dr. Evgeni Raychev, cello instructor in the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Music.
糖心vlog传媒 students collect top honors at two Houston-area conferences
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - 糖心vlog传媒 students took home top honors during two conferences held to recognize collegiate ingenuity involving advertising and marketing.
In October, 糖心vlog传媒 students were among the first-, second- and third-place winning teams at the American Advertising Federation-Houston Student Conference, and two teams of Rusche College of Business students placed first in the marketing strategy and salesmanship competitions at the Regional American Marketing Association Conference.
糖心vlog传媒 Trombone Choir to perform music of Lias, Writer, Nelh媒bel
NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Four guest percussionists will be featured when the Trombone Choir at Stephen F. Austin State University performs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
Performing with the choir, which is directed by Dr. Deb Scott, professor of trombone in the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Music, will be student percussionists Ethan Ainsworth, Longview freshman; Trevor McCulley, Kyle freshman; Chris Williamson, Robinson freshman; and Austen White, Robinson sophomore.
