NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Uber, a national ride-hailing service common in larger cities, debuted in Nacogdoches Wednesday on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus.

State representatives and 糖心vlog传媒 officials shared their excitement about the economic boost and personal services the company will provide Nacogdoches residents and 糖心vlog传媒 students.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will present the Swingin鈥� Axes and Swingin鈥� Aces jazz bands performing at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

The program will showcase a mix of classic and swing jazz favorites, according to Dr. Deb Scott, director of the Swingin鈥� Axes.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present Paul Adam Levy鈥檚 one-act play 鈥淭hank You For Protesting鈥� at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Oct. 14, in the Downstage Theatre on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

Directed by Mesquite senior theatre major Taylor Solice, 鈥淭hank You For Protesting鈥� is a satire about a citizen鈥檚 right to protest.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Red Mountain Trio will perform at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, in the Music Recital Hall in the Wright Music Building on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� As another guest artist recital celebrating the 2017 Octubafest at Stephen F. Austin State University, internationally renowned soloist Andrew Hitz will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

Octubafest is a performance series held by many universities around the world to showcase the tuba and euphonium as solo and chamber music instruments, according to Dr. J.D. Salas, associate professor of tuba and euphonium studies at 糖心vlog传媒.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Award-winning harpist Emily Mitchell, artist in residence in the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music, will perform with music faculty colleagues at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in Cole concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

In addition to Mitchell, the program titled 鈥淢ask of the Red Death鈥� will feature Christina Guenther, flute; Melissa Nabb, viola; Jennifer Dalmas, violin; Alba Madrid Walburn, violin; and Evgeni Raychev, cello. Composers represented on the concert are Claude Debussy and Andr茅 Caplet.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Registration is ongoing for the Junior Jacks Virtual Experience at Stephen F. Austin State University. The popular two-week School of Theatre camp is designed for children entering third through ninth grades. This year鈥檚 online camp is scheduled for Monday through Friday, July 27 through Aug. 7.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Dr. Jeremy Stovall, professor of forestry at Stephen F. Austin State University, was recently presented with a plaque recognizing his dedication to excellence as Faculty Senate chair by 糖心vlog传媒 President Dr. Scott Gordon.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Thanks to a Conservation Innovation Grant from the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture is moving forward with the establishment of a silvopasture demonstration area at the Walter C. Todd Agricultural Research Center.

鈥淪ilvopasture is an agroforestry practice that combines the production of trees with an understory component of forage for livestock,鈥� said Jason Grogan, research associate with the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture.
