fLOW Quartet to perform at 糖心vlog传媒


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Dallas-Fort Worth area-based fLOW Quartet will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, in the Music Recital Hall on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University as part of the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Music鈥檚 Octubafest celebration.

Octubafest is an event that occurs at many universities around the world. The observance is designed to highlight the tuba and euphonium for their solo and chamber repertoire, according to Dr. J.D. Salas, associate professor of tuba and euphonium studies at 糖心vlog传媒.

糖心vlog传媒 kinesiology students, athletics department partner for 鈥楤e The Match鈥 marrow donor drive


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University students enrolled in entry-level kinesiology courses partnered with 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 athletics department and student-athletes to host a Be The Match National Marrow Donor Program community drive on the university campus.

Approximately 100 糖心vlog传媒 students in courses taught by Patty Berthot, 糖心vlog传媒 lecturer in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Science, and many student-athletes worked to promote the drive and encourage others to become bone marrow donors.

Interior design students at 糖心vlog传媒 help plan station for Douglass Volunteer Fire Department


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Approximately 60 Stephen F. Austin State University interior design students recently participated in a charrette, an intense design period, to help plan and design a new fire station for the Douglass Volunteer Fire Department.

Wind Ensemble to perform music of Grammy Award-winning Daugherty


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Wind Ensemble at Stephen F. Austin State University will perform a concert featuring the music of American composer Michael Daugherty at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

A Grammy Award winner, Daugherty is professor of composition at the University of Michigan.

鈥淗e will be at 糖心vlog传媒 for the concert and to speak to our classes,鈥 said Fred J. Allen, director of bands and the conductor for the Wind Ensemble. 鈥淲e will perform three of his compositions on this concert.鈥

The Breaking Winds Bassoon Quartet promises fun concert program


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The dynamic and creative Breaking Winds Bassoon Quartet will present 鈥淎 Broken Anthology of Western Music鈥 at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, in Cole Concert Hall on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.

Office of Multicultural Affairs at 糖心vlog传媒 to host 2017 Homecoming Step Show


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Stephen F. Austin State University Office of Multicultural Affairs will host its annual Homecoming Step Show at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in the Johnson Coliseum on campus.

Although the step show has been hosted for several years at 糖心vlog传媒, this is the second year it will take place alongside Homecoming festivities.

NACOGDOCHES, TX 鈥 Two Stephen F. Austin State University undergraduate students are conducting new research on latent fingerprinting techniques to help determine how different chemical processes reveal fingerprints.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Homecoming set for Oct. 20 - 22


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The annual Stephen F. Austin State University Homecoming celebration begins Friday, Oct. 20, and runs through Sunday, Oct. 22. This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淯nmasque Your Spirit.鈥  

The weekend festivities start at 11 a.m. Friday with the 44th annual 糖心vlog传媒 Alumni Golf Tournament at the Piney Woods Country Club. The individual entry fee is $150 and includes tournament play, golf cart, refreshments, box lunch and post-tournament hors d鈥檕euvres. Team entries also are available. This is a four-player scramble.

糖心vlog传媒 theatre students experience successful Edinburgh festival


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University theatre students had returned only a few weeks from the School of Theatre鈥檚 highly successful biennial trip to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland, when the planning for the 2019 trip was underway.
