糖心vlog传媒 music faculty to present Pi Kappa Lambda scholarship concert


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Faculty members of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will be the featured performers during the annual Pi Kappa Lambda Music Faculty Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

The concert showcases the talents of the diverse School of Music performing faculty, according to Dr. Jamie Weaver, associate professor of music history at 糖心vlog传媒 and president of Pi Kappa Lambda honors society. Proceeds from the concert fund scholarships for deserving 糖心vlog传媒 music majors selected by the honors society.

糖心vlog传媒 College of Liberal and Applied Arts announces recipient of Research Apprenticeship Program scholarship


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 College of Liberal and Applied Arts has announced the recipient of the fall 2018 Research Apprenticeship Program scholarship. The scholarship is awarded each semester to an undergraduate student who completes a substantial research or collaborative project with a faculty member.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University will celebrate its 95-year history at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Plaza. The event will pay homage to a tradition that dates all the way back to 糖心vlog传媒's opening day 鈥 birthday cake 鈥 along with a newer tradition: purple ice cream.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Office of Multicultural Affairs is hosting Noche de Gala to celebrate Hispanic-Latinx Heritage Month at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Twilight Ballroom in the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

Keynote speaker Zahira Kelly, an African-Latina writer, artist, international speaker and award-winning sociocultural critic, will discuss her experiences as an African-Latinx woman and address current issues within the Latinx community.

糖心vlog传媒 and HCC to host open house for interior design partnership


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University and Houston Community College will kick off the semester and their interior design partnership with an open house showcasing HCC鈥檚 Central campus facilities from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19 in the Learning Hub Building, Room 100, on the HCC Central campus.

Students, faculty, staff, interior design alumni and community members are invited to attend the free event.

Sally Ann Swearingen, 糖心vlog传媒 associate professor of interior design, said the event is a celebration.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens will host its annual Fabulous Fall Festival Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, located at 2900 Raguet St. in historic Nacogdoches.

糖心vlog传媒 Gardens to host pollinator Saturday Seminar


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens will host a Saturday Seminar on wildscaping for pollinators from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 22 at the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center.

鈥淧ollinators are responsible for one out of every three bites of food we eat, but their populations are threatened with serious decline,鈥 said Dawn Stover, 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens research associate and pollinator plant specialist. 鈥淎nyone can help native pollinators by planting their own backyard pollinator habitat.鈥

Tickets available for Reduced Shakespeare Company鈥檚 performance


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Tickets are still available to a performance of the Reduced Shakespeare Company in 鈥淭he Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised]鈥 at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus.
