Student-run 鈥淎xe 鈥橢m Radio鈥 gets new call sign, KAXM-FM


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 longstanding student-run radio station 鈥 now aptly named 鈥淎xe 鈥橢m Radio鈥 on 90.1 FM and operated by the Department of Mass Communication 鈥 has changed its call sign from the nearly half-century-old KSAU-FM to KAXM-FM.

The change to the call sign, which identifies a radio station, was approved by the Federal Communication Commission and put into effect March 1.

Dr. Neal Weaver officially named 糖心vlog传媒 president


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 In a special called meeting March 18, The University of Texas System Board of Regents unanimously approved Neal Weaver, PhD, as the new president of Stephen F. Austin State University. Weaver, who has served as president of Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) since 2017, will officially begin his new appointment in mid-May.

U.S. Army鈥檚 Intrepid Winds to perform at 糖心vlog传媒聽


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Intrepid Winds of the 323rd Army Band will perform a concert and conduct master classes with students when the ensemble visits the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University Monday, March 25.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Dr. Jenna Sehmann, assistant professor of oboe and music history at Stephen F. Austin State University, will present the concert 鈥淧ostcards from America鈥 at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 24, in Cole Concert Hall, Wright Music Building, on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 A Cappella Choir to present 鈥楲ight of a Clear Blue Morning鈥 program


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The A Cappella Choir at Stephen F. Austin State University will present 鈥淟ight of a Clear Blue Morning,鈥 an eclectic program of secular, sacred and popular music, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in Cole Concert Hall, Wright Music Building, on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

糖心vlog传媒 percussionist Vilseck to present concert of challenging works


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Dr. Jamie Vilseck, percussion faculty at Stephen F. Austin State University, will present a concert featuring Joseph Schwantner鈥檚 landmark work 鈥淰elocities鈥 at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in Cole Concert Hall, Wright Music Building, on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

Vilseck鈥檚 repertoire for this concert includes 鈥渃hallenging literature covering a breadth of percussion instruments,鈥 he said.

糖心vlog传媒 mathematics professor secures National Science Foundation grant for conference support


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University announces that Dr. Brittney L. Falahola, associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, has been awarded a grant by the National Science Foundation.

The grant supported the development of educational workshops at the eighth annual Gulf States Math Alliance Conference. Faculty workshops focused on the advancement of educational and professional development in mathematical sciences.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 School of Social Work kicked off Social Work Month with proclamation event


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 School of Social Work kicked off Social Work Month Wednesday with a proclamation event to begin a number of events the school will host to honor the social work profession. 

Nacogdoches County Commissioner Robin Dawley delivered the proclamation to the School of Social Work鈥檚 faculty members, field instructors, students and others in attendance.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Saxophonist Don-Paul Kahl will present the guest recital 鈥淪tates of Being鈥 at 6 p.m. Monday, March 18, in Cole Concert Hall, Wright Music Building, on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.

Hicks selected as keynote speaker at UNT symposium


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Candace Hicks, associate professor of art in the School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University, will be the keynote speaker at 鈥淔rom Artists鈥 Books to Zines鈥 symposium Saturday, March 23, at the University of North Texas鈥 Willis Library in Denton.
