ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Percussion Ensemble to present challenging concert


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Percussion Ensemble at Stephen F. Austin State University will perform its annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.

"Featuring a wide variety of percussion and musical styles, this is one of the most difficult programs the 13-member ensemble has ever presented," said Dr. Scott Harris, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ director of percussion.

Two recent photographs by Stephen F. Austin State University photographer Hardy Meredith received awards at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education's recent District IV conference in Austin.

Meredith received Special Awards (fourth place) in both the Structured Color Photography and Black-and-White Photography categories for his photos titled "Dr. Deer and Company" and "Header," respectively.

ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ Trombone Choir concert slated


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS -The Trombone Choir at Stephen F. Austin State University will present a wide array of music during its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, in Cole Concert Hall on the ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ campus.

The 20-member choir will perform works spanning almost 400 years, some of which were originally written for a trombone ensemble and some that have been transcribed or arranged for the instrument, explained Deb Scott, ÌÇÐÄvlog´«Ã½ assistant professor of trombone and the group's director.
