NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens will host a fruit research field day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 19 featuring kiwifruit, muscadine grapes, blueberries, figs, feijoas and other fruits.

Speakers will include Dr. David Creech, director of 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens, with 鈥淭he 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens鈥 Fruit Research Plots鈥 and Dr. Tim Hartmann, Texas A&M University鈥檚 Department of Horticultural Sciences, with a talk on 鈥淎lternative Fruits for the Home Orchard or Commercial Field.鈥

Graduate students teach in central Mexico during study abroad trip


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 From local flavors to international classroom experiences, six graduate students in Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Department of Education Studies traveled to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, for a summer study abroad program, immersing themselves in Mexican culture while teaching local students through hands-on learning experiences.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 For the first time in its history, Stephen F. Austin State University has received over 20,000 undergraduate applications for a fall semester, marking a 17% increase over fall 2024 applications and a 67% rise since 2019.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 2025-26 University Series returns with a lineup of nationally acclaimed artists. All performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Turner Auditorium, Griffith Fine Arts Building.

This season, themed 鈥淎 Season to Share,鈥 brings the Nacogdoches, campus and surrounding communities together through the arts with high-quality performances spanning from blues and Celtic music to stand-up comedy and holiday traditions. Austin State University鈥檚 Counseling Services is now offering students, faculty and staff a new suicide prevention training program called Caring Jacks to create an environment where open conversations about suicide are met with compassion and support, helping build a community of care and connection.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Cole Tomberlain, president of The Tomberlain Insurance Group based in Longview, will give the commencement address during Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 summer graduation ceremony for undergraduates at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, in Johnson Coliseum. All master鈥檚 and doctoral candidates will receive their degrees during the Graduate Studies ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, in Turner Auditorium, Griffith Fine Arts Building.

Local educators, alumni share expertise at 糖心vlog传媒 Lifelong Learning Conference

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 The excitement is building at Stephen F. Austin State University, where extraordinary momentum in student enrollment has prompted the addition of a first-year student AXEcepted Day orientation session July 31.

With more incoming Lumberjacks confirming their plans to attend 糖心vlog传媒, the university has added an extra AXEcepted Day session to accommodate the increase in participants. This marks a significant moment of growth and energy for the university, signaling that more students are choosing to say, "Axe 'em, Jacks!"

糖心vlog传媒 Gardens to receive grant for trail remodel


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥撯 Stephen F. Austin State University will receive a 2025 Recreational Trail Program grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department following an environmental review and grant agreement.

Dr. David Creech, 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens director, and Dr. David Kulhavy, professor in the College of Forestry and Agriculture, serve as principal investigator and co-investigator, respectively, for the project titled "Building a Path to the Future at the 糖心vlog传媒 Gardens."
