NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Houston pianist Mary Katherine Schober will present the concert program 鈥淚mages,鈥� featuring works by Modest Mussorgsky, Felix Mendelssohn and her own original compositions, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, in Cole Concert Hall on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� South Korean violinist Jeongwon Claire An will present 鈥淐elebration of Beethoven 鈥� Complete Violin Sonata Series鈥� when she performs at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, in Cole Concert Hall on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.

She will be accompanied by Dr. Minhae Lee, assistant professor of piano in the 糖心vlog传媒 School of Music. The program will feature Ludwig van Beethoven鈥檚 Sonata for Violin and Piano in D major, Op. 12, No. 1; Sonata for Violin and Piano in F major, Op. 24, No. 5; and Sonata for Violin and Piano in G major, Op. 30, No. 3.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Children鈥檚 Performing Arts Series at Stephen F. Austin State University will present two performances of 鈥淥skar鈥檚 Bigger Bully Battle鈥� Thursday, March 7, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

Oskar is the central character in a series of educational plays by Houston-based Alley Theatre. Oskar is a bright, excitable and extremely creative fifth-grader. In this play, a very thorny incident shocks the schoolyard, and everyone is stumped and confused. But never fear 鈥� Oskar to the rescue!

Austin State University鈥檚 entrepreneurship academic program and Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship in the Rusche College of Business were collectively named one of the top three emerging entrepreneurship programs in the nation by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� In a celebration of scientific curiosity and the contributions of biologists, Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 Department of Biology is set to celebrate Darwin Day Feb. 12 with special guest speaker Dr. David Hillis from The University of Texas at Austin.

Embracing the spirit of inquiry that defines Charles Darwin's groundbreaking contributions to evolutionary theory, Hillis will give his talk on Darwin鈥檚 鈥淭ree of Life鈥� hypothesis.  

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University will premiere a film written, directed, and edited by 糖心vlog传媒 graduate student Armando Silvas Jr. when it presents 鈥淭he Russian at Christmas鈥� at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, in W.M. Turner Auditorium, Griffith Fine Arts Building, on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

The film was selected to be produced as the School of Art filmmaking program鈥檚 2023 糖心vlog传媒 summer feature. Silvas鈥� 鈥淭he Russian at Christmas鈥� is a feature-length action/comedy holiday film about a Russian hitman who tracks down a mall Santa on Christmas Eve.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� Who doesn鈥檛 like a spy thriller? Lovers of comic theater and classic movies will be in their entertainment element at the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre and Dance鈥檚 production of 鈥淭he 39 Steps,鈥� a parody play adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and the film by Alfred Hitchcock.
 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥� The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre and Dance will present the student-directed full-length, dark comedy 鈥淭he Motherf**ker with the Hat鈥� by award-winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, in the Black Box Theater in the Griffith Fine Arts Building, 糖心vlog传媒 campus.
 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥�  Venezuelan percussionist Alirio Jos茅 Torrealba will perform at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in Cole Concert Hall on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.
 
His recital will feature performances of 鈥淓ntrevero鈥� for Maracas and Tape by Guasaka4; 鈥淧ajarillo Flamenco鈥� by Juan Carlos Contreras; and 鈥淭emazcal鈥� (maracas and tape) by Javier Alvarez. He will also conduct a maracas master class for 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 percussion studio.
