NSU Percussion Ensemble to perform at 糖心vlog传媒


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Percussion Ensemble from Northwestern State University will present a preview performance of their 2021 Percussive Arts Society International Convention New Literature Showcase Concert when the ensemble performs at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.

This year鈥檚 Percussive Arts Society International Convention New Literature Showcase Concert will take place on Nov. 12 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

糖心vlog传媒 music faculty to present Coleidoscope concert


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University will present 鈥淎 Mid-Century Chamber Music Faculty Recital鈥 as its fall Coleidoscope concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

The Coleidoscope concert is part of a faculty chamber music series dedicated to performing music with various, often less standard, combinations of instruments and that explores a variety of genres and repertoire, according to Dr. Jennifer Dalmas, professor of violin at 糖心vlog传媒.

Edmondson鈥檚 works on paper to show at Cole Art Center


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Works on paper by artist and educator Greg Edmondson will be exhibited starting Oct. 25 at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches. 鈥淭he Impermanence of Objects 鈥 Works on Paper 2014-2021鈥 will show through late January.

An opening reception is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at The Cole Art Center. An artist talk and walk-through will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15.

糖心vlog传媒 School of Theatre to present student-directed 鈥楾he Actor鈥檚 Nightmare鈥


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present the student-directed comic play 鈥淭he Actor鈥檚 Nightmare鈥 at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, in Regents Suite A in the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

Directed by Caitlyn Kirchman, Nacogdoches senior, 鈥淭he Actor鈥檚 Nightmare鈥 is written by Christopher Durang and is about a man who is mistaken for an understudy in a play, and when forced to perform, he doesn鈥檛 know any of his lines.

糖心vlog传媒 jazz bands reschedule 鈥楽wingin鈥 at the Brewery鈥 fundraiser


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The student jazz bands at Stephen F. Austin State University will present their fall fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at Fredonia Brewery in downtown Nacogdoches. The event was originally planned for Oct. 1 but was rained out. Donations for the School of Music鈥檚 jazz program will be accepted at the event.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 Stephen F. Austin State University graduate student Lindsey Creel will present 鈥淐lean Fields: The Antidote to Overstimulation鈥 as her Master of Fine Arts exhibition to be on view Nov. 1 through 18 in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 forestry program celebrates 75th anniversary


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 In the spring semester of 1946, Stephen F. Austin State Teachers College welcomed an influx of returning World War II servicemen to the student body. Among the courses offered to these new and returning students was an entirely new academic program 鈥 one that is inexorably tied to the heritage, economy and natural history of the region.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 All prospective graduate students and working professionals looking to advance their careers through graduate study are invited to attend Stephen F. Austin State University鈥檚 first virtual graduate school informational session.

Representatives from 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Office of Research and Graduate Studies will present a one-hour overview about applying for and attending graduate school. The virtual info session also will review 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 own master鈥檚 degree, doctoral degree and certification programs.

糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Singin鈥 Axes, Kantorei choirs present 鈥楾o Vienna and Beyond 鈥︹


NACOGDOCHES, Texas 鈥 The Singin鈥 Axes and Kantorei choirs at Stephen F. Austin State University will present 鈥淭o Vienna and Beyond 鈥︹ when the choral ensembles perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in Cole Concert Hall on the 糖心vlog传媒 campus.

Under the direction of Dr. Tod Fish, associate director of choral activities at 糖心vlog传媒, the choirs will perform works by composers from Austria and Germany written from the early 17th to the late 19th centuries. A number of 糖心vlog传媒 music faculty members will collaborate with Fish and the choirs.
